Hudba ako udalosť – monografia

Marek Piaček
Zhrnutie

Autor v predkladanej monografii definuje ako základnú stavebnú jednotku hudobnotvorného diania udalosť (angl. event, nem. Ereigniss). Fenomén udalosti označuje ako miesto, kde sa do intenzívneho kultúrotvorného vzťahu zapája umelecké i mimoumelecké dianie, tzv. aktívne a pasívne elementy – otvorenosť a uzavretosť hudobného diania, jeho tvorca i recipient. Takto chápaná udalosť existuje v priestore bez centra a stáva sa zdrojom času. Konkrétna vlastnosť udalosti súvisí s konkrétnym kultúrno-civilizačným, geografickým, dobovým a iným kontextom konkrétneho človeka.

Summary

The author defines an event (more apt is the Heideggerian term enowning, from German Ereignis) as a basic element of music-creative activity. The phenomenon of an event is specified as a place where artistic and non-artistic activity (i.e. active and passive elements; the openness and closeness of music activity, its creators and recipients) meet in an intense cultural creative relation. In this perspective, the event exists in space with no centre and becomes the source of time. There is no time in the event. Philosophically speaking, every event has its trans-horizon character and thus cannot be ever fully controlled. This circumstance requires humility of a composer in the creative process. It also suggests the issue of alteration of any event into something independent, autonomous, active and creative. The event is always unique and exclusive. New and different characteristics of the event appear in the closest moment or at any other place immediately. A particular characteristic is related to the specific cultural-civilizational, geographical, period and other contexts of the man. It is extremely dificult to define individual features of the event since one of its major features is plasticity, exibility and unlimited adaptability to the needs of a composer, interpreter, and recipient and to the needs of other, often unforeseen, events. Selected compositions (by Adams, Berio, Zorn and others, as well as author’s own compositions) are used to illustrate the variety of ways in which events communicate and thus create and emanate new meanings and produce new artistic music or music-theatrical events. Music events are also unique because the meaning which is found in the event can be of music but at the same time of non-music character. In this way, the event becomes a potential vehicle for an infinite number of possible semantic worlds.

„Osobitá autorova noetika vychádza zo špecifickej filozofie synkriticizmu, čo modifikuje Piačekov vzťah k hudbe ako kultúrnej udalosti. V interdisciplinárnom prístupe, v alúzii na Chomského jazykovedný pojem lingvistická kompetencia, prichádza s termínom hudobná kompetencia. (...) Spomínaný koncept hudby ako udalosti skúma v rôznych kontextoch, zaujímajú ho spoločenské a kultúrne predpoklady tohto fenoménu; určuje ich ‚rozpoznateľnosť‘ vyplývajúcu zo‚ špecifickej tvorivej situácie autorov, u ktorých je zjavný podobný kompozičný koncept, akým je koncept hudby ako udalosti“. Piaček analyzuje autorské rukopisy takých hudobných tvorcov, akými sú John Zorn, Luciano Berio, John Adams, Sergej Kurjochin, Christian Wolff, James Tenney, ale aj vlastné hudobné projekty.“
